1948 Pontiac Silver Streak
Fleetleader Special Two-Door Sedan

On this page we finish our preliminary look at the car, peeking inside the trunk.

There is not one hole in that floor, and WD-40 and 5W-30 oil will be soaking their way through a winter until the spring of 2005.  All of the nuts and bolts appear to be in good shape, and with the soaking they should be easily removable when the body gets ready to be removed from the frame in 2005.

The photo on the right requires some explanation.  This is a view of the rear floor area taken from the passenger side.  The passenger front seat back has been tipped forward.

Yes, the flooring will be replaced in its entirety.   And a major decision has to be made as to whether to refurbish the seats with new material, or use an interior from a Grand Prix, Grand Am, Buick or Oldsmobile.

The pros and cons of both options will be weighed heavily and the results will be portrayed as part of this web site as time marches on.
