Marcel and Donna Gregoire's 1966 Olds Toronado only has 140,000 miles on it. This car is part of the first production year of the big block front wheel drive 425 Super Rocket bored .30 over with stock 10.5 to 1 pistons. Equipped with stock high flowing heads with large 2.072" valves and a factory Quadrajet (4MV) carburetor, Marcel says "It's rated at 385 hp / 475 lbs torque, but it has more now since I upgraded the cam and the exhaust." The cam has a lift of .296/.296, with valve
lift of .474/.474, duration 329/329, and an overlap of 103 degrees. The switch
pitch TH425 transmission was available for 1966 and 1967 and, says Marcel, "It
gives me the best of both worlds ... with low stall for good gas mileage and high stall
for good acceleration." Adds Donna, "The factory tested the car to 140 mph
but I won't let him try it. And the best part is it runs great even on regular pump
