1987 Buick Grand National

Craig's 1987 Buick Grand National, when purchased in February 1996, was still all original except for factory wheels.  This particular Grand National is quite rare as it has some unique options on it.   Assumedly, the car was a factory order due to these options.

It is the only 1987 Grand National in Winnipeg (Canada) with the 7 piece gray carpet in the trunk, and it has a power trunk release.   The car does not have power windows or door locks, something that is extremely rare for a Grand National.  The car is equipped with a Concert Sound II 6-speaker system and power driver's seat and overhead reading lights, with no passenger mirror adjustment from inside the car.

Restored in 1999 to original specifications, the car includes the original wheels and tires.  While driving on the street, the Grand National rides on after-market 16-inch wheels so that the originals don't get worn out.  Power is by a 3.8 Litre TURBOCHARGED SFI V6, with 4 speed automatic transmission.  The 8.5 rear end is a posi with 3.42 gears.  There were 20,194 Grand Nationals produced in 1987 with only 1,695 being exported to Canada.
