Chris and Peggy's 2004 Sunfire GT is NOT what it seems on the outside! Starting with your basic 2-door Coupe finished in Polo Green, the 2.2L DOHC "Ecotec" engine was mated to an automatic transmission. Purchased in July of 2004 with factory (optional) 16" rims and Goodyear RSA Eagle H rated tires and the optional tuned suspension, this car has now undergone some MAJOR retrofit work!
Starting
with the engine, Chris added an RSM Racing Stage 1 supercharger kit
and Racing 62mm TB, the obligatory K&N air filter, a Vortech FMU and Vortech Blow off
valve,a Pacesetter ceramic header, a Magnaflow free flow cat and an Autotrans interceptor.
Once those details were tended to, the suspension, wheels and brakes were beefed up
with Power Slot rotors, an RSM upper strut tower brace, and a custom made subframe brace.
The interior has had a few obligatory gauges installed to watch over what's happening under the hood, a Monsoon sound system and some fancy floor mats and pedals. And the exterior? Chris says, with a slight smirk on his face, "Stock. Why warn them?" Be sure to send an e-mail to the President or Membership Chair to request information
